This project was a dive into synaesthesia and the visualisation of sound, the core idea being that the digital canvas could be manipulated by sound. The canvas was programmed to change shape and colour, depending on the volume and frequency of sound it encountered. For one part of this project I asked my course mates if they would come and record ten seconds of audio which could be used to create their own art. Some weren’t able to see the moving canvas whilst speaking and others could. It was interesting to see the different outcomes and how some people changed how they spoke after they saw the result on screen. I now have a digital gallery of my friends and university course mates, a visualisation of their voices.
